Description
Fanatical Plague Monks
Plague Doctor
You have advantage on Medicine checks. When you make a medicine check to treat a creature suffering from Skettan Fever, you can automatically cure them of the disease.
Plague Carrier
Any Creature that starts it’s turn within 5 feet of you must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or be poisoned until the start of it’s next turn. The DC for this save is 8 + your Con modifier + your proficiency bonus. On a successful saving throw, the creature is immune to your Plague for 24 hours. When a creature becomes poisoned by this feature, it must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or contract Skettan Fever. The DC for this save is 8 + your Con modifier + your proficiency bonus.
Skettan Fever
Source
Cultivated and weaponized by Clan Pestilent, one of the great clans of the Skettan. It is typically spread through contaminated water, tainted food, or airborne particles.
Incubation Period
1d4 days after exposure
Symptoms
- Initial: Mild fatigue, light-headedness, disadvantage on Constitution saving throws.
- Advanced: Severe fatigue, vomiting, and high fever. Disadvantage on all attack rolls and ability checks.
- Final: Delirium, extreme weakness, and necrotic tissue damage, leading to the risk of death.
Saving Throws
Saving Throws are made each time an infected creature completes a short rest until they are cured or recover. A creature recovers from the disease when they succeed on 3 Saving Throws in succession.
- Make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw after the incubation period. On a failure, the character moves to the initial stage of symptoms.
- After another 24 hours, make another DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the character moves to the advanced stage of symptoms. On a success, the symptoms remain at the current stage.
- A third DC 15 Constitution saving throw is required after another 24 hours to prevent moving to the final stage of symptoms, which can lead to death.
Treatment
- A Lesser Restoration spell can remove the disease at the initial stage.
- A Greater Restoration or Heal spell is required to remove the disease at the advanced stage.
- The disease is too potent for most medicine to cure, but some rare alchemical ingredients may provide a cure.
- Members of the Skettan Clan Pestilent possess secret knowledge to cure and inoculate individuals from the disease.
