Full Description
Hailing from the secluded and dense jungles of the realm, the Panthera are a mysterious and solitary race of panther-folk. Adorned with sleek, spotted or black fur, sharp retractable claws, and keen, glowing eyes, these agile and stealthy humanoids embody the grace and power of the panthers they resemble.
Solitary Hunters:
Panthera are natural hunters, relying on their sharp instincts, agility, and stealth to stalk and catch their prey. They are masters of moving silently through the dense foliage, leaving no trace of their passage. Their society values independence and self-reliance, with individuals often going on solitary hunts to prove their worth.
Territorial Communities:
Panthera form small, closely-knit communities hidden within the depths of the jungle. They are fiercely territorial and mark the boundaries of their lands with scent markings. Intruders are warned away with growls and displays of strength, and those who do not heed these warnings are dealt with swiftly.
Spiritual Connection:
Panthera have a deep spiritual connection to the jungle and its creatures. They believe in living in harmony with nature and take only what they need to survive. Elders of their communities serve as spiritual guides, interpreting the signs of the jungle and leading ceremonies to honor the spirits of the land.
Panthera Subraces:
- Black Panthera: Known for their completely black fur and heightened senses, Black Panthera have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in dim light or darkness.
- Spotted Panthera: Spotted Panthera, with their distinctive coat patterns, are adept at using the terrain to their advantage. They have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in forested terrain.
