Full Description
Rhox are imposing, bipedal rhinoceros-like humanoids, standing between 7 to 8 feet tall. With a thick, greyish-brown hide covered in folds and plates, they are well-armored against threats. A prominent horn, varying in size and shape, adorns their snouts, serving as both a natural weapon and a symbol of their strength and stature.

Nature: Proud and bellicose, Rhox are known for their fierce guardianship of their families, friends, and values. They exhibit a strong sense of justice, loyalty, and truth, embodying these principles in their daily lives. Stubborn and prone to fits of anger, they are nonetheless earnest and straightforward, holding a deep disdain for deceit and betrayal.
Culture: Rhox society is deeply communal, with tightly knit communities settled predominantly near grasslands and tropical forests. Honor and tradition are pillars of their culture, with each member of the community contributing to the wellbeing and protection of all. The ancient history of the fallen Rhox Empire casts a long shadow, and modern Rhox strive to learn from the past, dreaming of a united future without repeating previous transgressions.
Each Rhox village is usually governed by a council of elders, who make decisions based on wisdom and the well-being of the community. Rituals, ceremonies, and storytelling play a crucial role in preserving their history and instilling values in younger generations.
Lifestyle: Rhox communities are self-sufficient, relying on agriculture, hunting, and craftsmanship for sustenance. Their settlements are fortified, often featuring watchtowers and strong palisades to defend against potential threats. Rhox have a special affinity for metallurgy, crafting high-quality weapons and armor.
Military service is highly regarded, and many Rhox find purpose in serving as part of local guard corps or mercenary companies. Training in combat and strategy is a common part of upbringing, with young Rhox learning to wield their natural strength and horn in defense of their kin.
Relations with Other Races: Rhox are initially wary and slow to trust outsiders, holding a collective memory of betrayal and downfall. However, once trust is earned, they prove to be unwavering allies, offering their strength and loyalty without reservation. A breach of this trust is not easily forgiven, and a betrayed Rhox may harbor a lifelong grudge.
Despite their isolated nature, Rhox are willing to engage in trade and diplomacy with other races, especially those who show respect for their traditions and values. The shift towards tolerance and cooperation in their culture has opened doors for interaction and mutual learning.
Adventurers: Rhox adventurers are not uncommon and are often motivated by a desire to protect their people, reclaim lost glory, or seek justice. They make excellent warriors and paladins, utilizing their natural strength, resilience, and combat skills to face challenges head-on.
