Description
You are able to drain the magical energy from an ongoing spell or enchanted object in the vicinity, turning that energy into temporary hit points or using it to power your own abilities. As a reaction when you see a spell cast within 120 feet of you, or as an action when you touch an enchanted object or creature, you can attempt to siphon some of its magical energy. You make an anti-magic check using your Aethyrflame Spellcasting Ability against a DC of 10 plus the spell’s level (the GM determines the DC when siphoning from an enchanted object).
Upon a success, the magic of the triggering spell or touched object is slightly diminished. The spell is cast as though it were 1 spell level lower (cantrips are entirely nullified) and magical items have their effects temporarily diminished in a manner determined by the GM. When you siphon a spell or effect, you choose between gaining 5 temporary hit points per level of the siphoned spell or 1 nullification point per level of the siphoned spell (the GM determines the appropriate “level” of non-spell effects and objects).
Nullification Point Cost: 1
Nullification Points Regenerated: 1 for each level of the spell siphoned (unless converted into temporary hit points)
