The Church of Ruinous Powers
The Church of Ruinous Powers venerates the destructive forces of the world. Devotion to these powers takes many forms. Some congregations worship to appease the forces of ruin or hold them back, while others turn to them to bring despair upon their enemies.
Deities Venerated
Section titled “Deities Venerated”Three Prime Deities lead the Ruinous Powers:
- Junitaxion the Destroyer, of Destruction, in Desolation
- Kar’Ondrys the Blackheart, of Hate, in Animus
- Bohl’Dunar the Anarchist, of Anarchy, in Riot
Serving under Junitaxion are Andreliah the Plaguebringer, Byr’Tendris the Blightcaller, Ossakryon the Scourge and Ma’Vik the Void. Kar’Ondrys is served by Xharaden the Masochist, Gar’Kogan the Burningheart and Dezenkyr the Murderer, and Bohl’Dunar by Rhendrik the Mad King, Vikozia the Evermorph and Vyl’Banur the Revenant.
Tenets
Section titled “Tenets”There is no single creed. Those who seek to stave off ruin hold that a power acknowledged is less dangerous than one ignored, while those who court ruin see destruction as a tool. Both agree that these forces are real and cannot be wished away.
Clergy and Rites
Section titled “Clergy and Rites”Rites range from quiet offerings meant to turn away plague, blight or madness to darker observances kept in secret. Many communities tolerate the first and fear the second.
Holy Sites
Section titled “Holy Sites”Shrines to the Ruinous Powers are rarely built in plain sight. They tend to be found in ruins, on blighted ground and in places marked by past disasters.
