Mulvarp (Mole)

The Mulvarp are a small, burrowing mole-folk of Vitaea and one of the Earthborn heritages. They live in insular communities underground and set great store by skill and craftsmanship. Their line runs back to the True Sylvari, and they took their present form in the Great Awakening, around 40,000 years ago.

A Mulvarp stands about three feet tall and weighs around 50 pounds. Fur runs from grey and white to brown and black, and strong claws make quick work of soil and stone.

Communities are governed in a guild-like way, and standing follows ability. A well-made tool or a cleanly cut tunnel earns more respect than wealth or birth.

The Mulvarp count Zarriel as their home region. They feel movement through the earth out to about 20 feet, and some are sensitive to psionic forces.

A Mulvarp can expect to live around 150 years, time enough to master more than one craft.

Most speak Aethyrian Common, Terran and Mulvarpen. Among the other Earthborn peoples, they share their tunneling ways with the Formians.

When a Mulvarp’s Aethyr Knot ignites, a craftsman’s patience goes with them into a life bound to the Aethyrweave.
