Communication
Communication technology lets the people of Geminaea speak and send messages across distances that would otherwise take days or weeks to cross. Most of it relies on Aethyr, which connects all things through the Aethyrweave and can carry energy through enchanted objects almost instantly. The planes of existence are themselves interwoven with Aethyr, which makes travel and communication between them possible.
Physical travel still matters. With the development of the Raveni Shuttle, communication and travel between the worlds reached new heights, while remote places may still depend on whoever can reach them.
Methods in Common Use
Section titled “Methods in Common Use”- Speaking Stones: enchanted stones that carry a voice to their partner stones, for personal conversation.
- The Aethyrline: a network of stations that carries messages over long distances.
- Signals and scrying: signal towers, relays and scrying devices that pass word or keep watch over distance.
- Couriers: messengers on foot, by beast, by ship or by skycraft remain the most common way to send letters and goods.
Trade and Control
Section titled “Trade and Control”Information is valuable, and those who carry it hold power. On Ravena, House Vulyr is the guild of information brokers, couriers and secret communications, and governments and guilds everywhere take a close interest in who can send messages, and who can read them.
