Haku-Dweka (Proto-Dwarves)
The Haku-Dweka were the proto-dwarves, one of the Haku-Prota ancestral peoples that branched from Aradaea’s first humans. Around 150,000 years ago the lands their ancestors settled began to set them apart, and from them came every dwarf of Aradaea. The heritage itself is long extinct.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”Proto-dwarves were stout, standing around four and a half feet tall and weighing about 150 pounds. Their hair was thick and curly and came in many colors, beards were common, and their skin covered the natural range of tones.
Homeland
Section titled “Homeland”No single region is recorded as their home; they belong to Aradaea’s deep past as a whole. The History of Aradaea tells how, in the eras of regrowth after the Rending, the dwarves came to carve great kingdoms beneath the mountains and were shaped by the shelter those mountains gave them.
Life Cycle
Section titled “Life Cycle”A proto-dwarf could expect to live around 250 years, as their descendants still do. They could already sense movement through the ground out to about 20 feet, a trait every dwarf has inherited.
Relations
Section titled “Relations”The Dwek descend from them. The Dwek-Maka and Dwek-Haku trace their line directly to the proto-dwarves, and the Dwek-Droki later broke away from the mountain dwarves. Their cousins among the proto-races were the Haku-Elda, Haku-Greka and Haku-Grana. The proto-dwarves are not a playable heritage.
