Elden-Droki (Dark Elves)

The Elden-Droki are the dark elves of Aradaea, a matriarchal people of the Underdark, also known as the Drow. They are among the youngest elven heritages, having diverged from the Elden-Eladen some 10,000 years ago, changed by the deep places they settled, the food they found there and the magic they practiced.

Dark elves are lithe, around five and a half feet tall and about 100 pounds. Their skin runs to blacks, purples and blues, their fine, straight hair is white, and they are beardless, with pointed ears and large, glowing eyes that see well in the dark.

Power among the dark elves passes through the female line. Noble houses compete for standing, and a rivalry between them can grow into open war.

Their home region is Erelhei, beneath the surface in the Umbrage. The kingdom of Erelhei Cinlu has long been led by House X’lyl, whose matriarch Xullsinstra X’lyl is among its best-known figures.

A dark elf can live around 500 years.

They share their eladrin ancestry with the other Elden heritages. Most speak Elvish and Undercommon alongside Aethyrian Common.

A dark elf whose Aethyr Knot ignites carries the ambition of the houses into a life bound to the Aethyrweave.
