Naga (Yuan-Ti)

The Naga are the snake-folk of Vitaea, a Seaborn heritage ruled by an authoritarian theocracy. They are known for cold-blooded court intrigue and for a deep hatred of other peoples. Like the other beastfolk, they descend from the True Sylvari and gained sapience in the Great Awakening, some 40,000 years ago.

A Naga has no legs. The body rises about six feet when upright and stretches some twelve feet from head to tail, yet weighs only around 150 pounds. Scales come in greens, blues, purples and blacks, and their eyes are suited to low light.

Naga society follows a strict caste system, and the ruling elite manages even the size of the population. Faith and power are bound together, and advancement at court depends on scheming as much as on merit.

Their home region is Eskelieh, a stretch of Naga-controlled marshland on the continent of Izora.

A Naga lives around 100 years.

Most speak Aethyrian Common and Yuantish. Their contempt for other heritages makes Eskelieh a difficult place for outsiders, and few other peoples trust them.

When a Naga’s Aethyr Knot ignites, their cunning and talent for spellcraft go with them into a life bound to the Aethyrweave.
