Raveni Bathhouses
The Raveni bathhouses are public baths found across Ravena, where they serve as places of hygiene, healing and social life. In a dense megalopolis that draws people from both planets, they are among the health institutions that help keep the city’s population well.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”The bathhouses draw on Ravena’s waterways and on Aethyr-driven pumps and heaters that keep the water moving, warm and clean. Larger houses offer pools of different temperatures, steam rooms and treatments, while smaller neighborhood baths provide little more than hot water and a place to wash.
Common Uses
Section titled “Common Uses”Residents bathe, rest and recover in the bathhouses, and many go as much for company as for cleanliness. Some houses offer remedies and treatments for injury and illness. Healing and medicine on Ravena fall to guilds of the Guildpact: the Shelara Conclave handles healing and spiritual charity, and the Vikrin Society medicine and the life sciences.
Availability
Section titled “Availability”Bathhouses are open to residents and visitors alike, though the finest charge accordingly. Simpler public baths keep basic hygiene within reach of those with little money.
Crowded water spreads illness when it is poorly kept, and failing machinery can scald or flood. Bathhouses also attract thieves and gossips, and private conversations held there rarely stay private for long.
