Skink (Kobolds)

The Skink are small dragon-folk of Vitaea and one of the Earthborn heritages. They live in scattered tribes underground and are known for two things above all: a low regard for their own safety and a deep veneration of dragons. They descend from the True Sylvari and took shape in the Great Awakening, around 40,000 years ago.

A Skink stands about three feet tall and weighs around 100 pounds. Their scales come in chromatic and metallic colors, and they have sharp claws and a ready bite.

Skink tribes prize cleverness over strength. They are skilled trappers, poison-makers and alchemical tinkers, and many show an affinity for geomancy.

Their home region is Kazaru, on the continent of Xodai. Burrowing and swimming come naturally to them, and they sense movement through the ground out to about 20 feet.

A Skink lives around 50 years, and many spend those years taking risks other peoples would avoid.

Most speak Aethyrian Common and Draconic. Their reverence for dragons sets them apart from the other Earthborn heritages.

When a Skink’s Aethyr Knot ignites, their boldness finds a new outlet in a life bound to the Aethyrweave.
