Trade and Control

Rail lines take great investment to lay and maintain, so they are usually built and run by governments, guilds or industrial houses. Whoever controls a line controls who and what moves along it, and the stations it serves often grow into busy markets. Fares, routes and the upkeep of track and engines are frequent matters of dispute between the cities they connect.
