Smek-Haku (Halfling)
The Smek-Haku are the halflings of Aradaea, one of the Smek heritages. Unlike the gnomes, they descend from Aradaea’s first humans directly, and over some 40,000 years their homeland and its food made them the small, sturdy people they are today.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”Halflings are diminutive, around three and a half feet tall and 75 pounds, with large, hairy feet. Their hair is fine and curly in many colors, some men grow light beards, and their skin covers the natural range of tones.
Society and Culture
Section titled “Society and Culture”Halfling communities are cooperative settlements of farmers and craftspeople. Family tradition matters a great deal, and halflings feel a strong kinship with one another wherever they live.
Homeland
Section titled “Homeland”Their homeland is Ashton, a peninsula between the Northal Sea and the Altaran Ocean. It gets more rain than most of Aradaea, which supports farming and herding. Its society is partly democratic and partly feudal, and it is among the most populous regions of the world.
Life Cycle
Section titled “Life Cycle”A halfling can expect to live around a century.
Relations
Section titled “Relations”Where else halflings have settled is yet to be described. They share the Smek name with the Smek-Azura. Most speak Halfling as well as Aethyrian Common.
