The War of the Gods

In the ancient history of Geminaea, long before the planets Aradaea and Vitaea orbited their shared moon Ravena, there existed a singular, thriving world known as Terra. On Terra, humanity evolved much as it did in our own world, developing complex societies, cultures, and, most importantly, diverse pantheons of gods and religions. These beliefs were not mere constructs of the human imagination; they were the very fabric of reality on Terra.

As human civilization spread across the globe, the latent magic embedded within Terra’s very essence responded to the collective beliefs of its inhabitants. Mortals’ faith and conviction gave rise to pantheons of deities, each with their own powers and domains, reflective of the cultures that worshiped them. These gods were not content with peaceful coexistence. As humanity’s understanding of the world expanded, so too did the ambitions of their deities.

The War of the Gods began as minor skirmishes between opposing pantheons, each brought into existence by the diverse and often conflicting beliefs of humanity. As the different cultures of Terra developed their own interpretations of the world, these beliefs manifested in the form of powerful deities. The gods, reflections of their mortal creators, embodied the ambitions, fears, and desires of those who worshiped them. As humanity’s understanding of the world expanded, so too did the intensity of their beliefs, driving their gods into an inevitable and escalating conflict.

What began as localized disputes soon erupted into a global struggle, with each pantheon vying not only for supremacy but also for the survival of their mortal followers. The gods, acting as extensions of the collective will of their believers, unleashed devastating forces in their battles, reshaping the very land and sky in their wake. As belief in these deities grew stronger, the wars intensified, eventually engulfing the entire world.

The culmination of the War of the Gods was a cataclysmic event of unimaginable scale. In the final, desperate struggle for dominance, the gods unleashed their full power, tearing Terra asunder. The world split into two massive celestial bodies, eventually forming the twin planets of Aradaea and Vitaea after the Reconstruction.
