Haku-Neheki (Nehekaran)

The Haku-Neheki were the Nehekaran humans, one of the true human heritages of Aradaea and among the oldest of them. They descended from Aradaea’s first humans and took shape in their home region some 80,000 years ago. The heritage is now recorded as extinct.

Nehekarans were of average human height, around five and a half feet and 150 pounds, with dark skin and thick, woolly, curly hair. They did not grow beards. The records describe them as undead humanoids, and how they came to that state is not yet written down.

Their home was Mazhai. According to the History of Aradaea, Mazhai was the seat of one of the world’s first great civilizations, a dynasty that grew up along a glacier-fed river through the desert and mastered irrigation, engineering and early work with Aethyr. Its sudden collapse remains a mystery, blamed variously on environmental disaster, strife within, or the will of the gods.

The list of Aradaea’s civilizations still names the Tomb Kings of Mazhai. How that realm relates to the vanished Nehekaran heritage awaits the written lore. Nehekarans are not a playable heritage.

They shared their ancestry with the other true humans, such as the Haku-Enintha and Haku-Kaladan.
