Quillbren (Quillboar)

The Quillbren are the boar-folk of Vitaea, a Landborn heritage of scattered families. They live in a mixed society of semi-nomadic tribes led by one of the great Khans of the Plain. Like most beastfolk, they descend from the True Sylvari and gained sapience in the Great Awakening, some 40,000 years ago.

A Quillbren stands about five feet tall and weighs around 200 pounds. Their bodies are covered in coarse bristles and quills, and tusks jut from the jaw. A threatened Quillbren can loose quills at an attacker or charge headlong to gore.

Quillbren families are hardy and self-reliant, with a strong instinct for survival. They travel with the tribes of the plain and share in the herding and camp life of the khanates.

Their home region is Terkon, the steppe country of Xodai.

A Quillbren lives around 75 years.

Most speak Aethyrian Common, Tarkin and Quillish. They live under the same khans as the Loxodon, Minos and Rhoken.

When a Quillbren’s Aethyr Knot ignites, their toughness goes with them into a life bound to the Aethyrweave, along with the chance of revival that only Aethyrsparked souls have.
