The Nine Champions of Ola'Vandyr

The Nine Champions of Ola’Vandyr are a group of ancient figures whose title ties them to Ola’Vandyr, the leader of the Otaan who is honored among the gods as the Arbiter. Who the nine were, when they lived and what they did is not yet recorded, so this page stays brief until their story is written.

Ola’Vandyr’s own story runs from the ruin of Terra to the shaping of the present world. Ola’Vandyr guided the Otaan to Terra’s moon as The Rending tore their world apart. Ola’Vandyr’s followers then raised a new pantheon of gods, and the broken halves of Terra were rebuilt as Aradaea and Vitaea. The Godspact that bound that pantheon was written in Ola’Vandyr’s blood. Any band of champions bearing the name belongs somewhere in that long history, though the records do not yet say where.

No deeds of the nine have been set down. The word “champion” suggests people who fought or stood for Ola’Vandyr’s cause, which above all was balance, but the details remain open.

Ola’Vandyr is still venerated as the god of Balance by the Devotion of the Cosmic Scale, and that memory endures in the Godspact and in Tu’Narath, the Wataari sanctuary built from Ola’Vandyr’s remains. Whatever part the nine played, their name keeps them bound to that legacy.
