The First Guildpact Council

The First Guildpact Council is remembered as the earliest governing body of the Guildpact, the confederacy of guilds that has ruled Ravena as neutral ground since the end of the War of the Moon. It is one of the Neoteric figures: the council first sat at the start of the Lunar Era, when the signing of the Guildpact ended the war in Raveni Standard Date 0, some 2,390 years ago. Few details of the council itself survive in the records gathered so far, and its members are not yet named.

Origins

The council grew out of the war’s final years. As the fighting drained Ravena’s Aethyr core and threatened to tear the moon apart, a coalition drawn from several of the warring factions set out to end the conflict. The eras records name its leader as Shaimyra of Dragar, whose coalition persuaded or overcame the belligerents until a treaty could be signed.

Deeds

The Treaty of the Guildpact declared Ravena the shared territory of all Geminaea’s peoples and placed it under a confederacy of guilds, apart from the politics of Aradaea and Vitaea. As the first body to sit under the treaty, the council faced the work of turning that agreement into a working government, with each guild answerable for its own district of the moon.

Legacy

The framework that took shape in those years still governs citizenship and civic life on Ravena. The signing of the Guildpact is celebrated each year on Pactseal Day, which opens the Spiral year.
