The Church of the Indulgences
The Church of the Indulgences honors the emotional pleasures and desires of life. Its followers believe these indulgences are what give life meaning and purpose, and that everyone should enjoy the time they are given.
Deities Venerated
Section titled “Deities Venerated”The patron of the Church is Stevarion the Licentious, Prime Deity of Desire, whose realm is Bacchanal, Stevarion’s Domain. The Divines who serve under Stevarion are:
- Jeva’Dessyra the Lascivious, of Lust
- Kar’Kendris the Avaricious, of Greed
- Jul’Anatheon the Imperious, of Pride
- Tom’Ezandra the Covetous, of Envy
- Cil’Agorian the Ravenous, of Gluttony
- Gav’Essra the Listless, of Sloth
Tenets
Section titled “Tenets”The faithful hold that desire is part of being alive, and that denying it outright makes for a thinner life. How far that belief is taken varies widely. Some congregations preach enjoyment in moderation, while others celebrate excess for its own sake.
Clergy and Rites
Section titled “Clergy and Rites”Rites of the Indulgences are often festive: feasts, revels and celebrations held in the name of one Divine or another. Clergy may act as hosts as much as priests, and an open table is a common sign of devotion.
Holy Sites
Section titled “Holy Sites”Shrines to the Indulgences are often found where pleasures are sold or shared, such as taverns, markets, gardens and banquet halls.
