Loxodon
The Loxodon are the elephant-folk of Vitaea, a Landborn heritage of scattered families. They live in a mixed society of semi-nomadic tribes led by one of the great Khans of the Plain. Like most beastfolk, they descend from the True Sylvari and gained sapience in the Great Awakening, some 40,000 years ago.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”A Loxodon stands about eight feet tall and weighs around 450 pounds. Their thick hide is largely hairless apart from coarse bristles, and a trunk serves as both a keen nose and a third hand.
Society and Culture
Section titled “Society and Culture”Loxodon tribes share the plains with other large beastfolk under the same khans. Their ways range from herding on the move to settled, monastic farming.
Homeland
Section titled “Homeland”They roam Terkon, whose grassy steppes are home to the Terkon Clans of elephant-folk, rhino-folk and centaurs.
Life Cycle
Section titled “Life Cycle”A Loxodon can live around 500 years. An elder may remember events that shorter-lived neighbors know only as stories, and families value that long memory.
Relations
Section titled “Relations”Most speak Aethyrian Common, Loxodon and Tarkin. Their closest kin in custom are the Minos, Quillbren and Rhoken, who live under the same khans.
