Lazorian Senate
The Lazorian Senate is one of the Guilds of Ravena and the keeper of the moon’s law. Ravena is governed by its council of guilds, but the Senate gives that government its legal shape: every Pact-bound guild, whatever its own internal rules, must honor the Senate’s decisions and the shared framework of arbitration.
Role in Ravena
Section titled “Role in Ravena”The Senate oversees government, the legal structure, the judiciary, arbitration and civic lawmaking. The code it upholds is set out in the Laws of Ravena, a civic law built on precedent and negotiation rather than divine commandment. Citizens seeking redress have the right to petition the Senate directly, one of the protections described under the Guildpact.
Structure
Section titled “Structure”Trials are heard by civic Judges, advised by advocates whom the guilds appoint, and verdicts may be appealed to a High Justice of the Senate. Civic Tribunals review applications for citizenship. How the Senate itself is organized beyond these offices is not yet recorded.
Membership
Section titled “Membership”Who serves in the Senate is yet to be described. Its guild-day, Lazorasda, is given over to law, courts and public rulings, and each year the Senate marks Civitas Day, a celebration of governance and the rule of law.
Seat of Power
Section titled “Seat of Power”The Senate is based in the district of Lazoria, and like the other Pact guilds it holds a seat in the shared governance of the Senate Spire.
