The Between (Ethereal Plane)
Geography
Section titled “Geography”The Between is one of the Transitive Planes, though it is not a realm in the usual sense. It is a transitional space that connects all the planes, the medium through which energy and influence flow between them. To those who enter it, it appears as a blurred fusion of the planes it touches, a misty void filled with shimmering echoes of reality.
Climate
Section titled “Climate”Fog and half-light fill the Between. Nothing in it is quite solid, and the echoes of other places drift and fade without warning.
Inhabitants
Section titled “Inhabitants”Spirits and entities caught in transition wander the Between, their forms ephemeral and incomplete. Many are ghosts held between life and death.
Dangers
Section titled “Dangers”Because the Between is a crossroads rather than a destination, the main danger is becoming lost in it. Travelers who stray from their path may find themselves far from where they meant to go, and the restless spirits there are not always harmless.
Points of Interest
Section titled “Points of Interest”Natural passages between planes often run briefly through the Between, and it holds portals and rifts to distant realms.
