Wagbalag Gug (Grung)

The Wagbalag Gug are a small frog-kin of Vitaea, a Landborn heritage living in insular tribes throughout the jungles. They and the Wagbalag Wug share a language and an amphibious nature. Like the other beastfolk, they descend from the True Sylvari and gained sapience in the Great Awakening, some 40,000 years ago.

A Wagbalag Gug stands only about two feet tall and weighs around 25 pounds. Their hairless skin comes in vibrant colors and is poisonous to the touch, a clear warning to anything that might prey on them.

Tribes keep to themselves and guard their territory closely. Life in the canopy has made them alert climbers and strong leapers.

Their home is the Akaras Wilds, among the jungles of the continent of Akaras. They swim as easily as they walk, but they need regular contact with water to stay healthy.

A Wagbalag Gug lives around 50 years.

Most speak Aethyrian Common and Wagbalag. They are immune to poison, which makes their own skin no danger to their kin, but outsiders learn quickly to keep their distance.

When a Wagbalag Gug’s Aethyr Knot ignites, their small size and wary instincts go with them into a life bound to the Aethyrweave.
