Sylvar, the Feywild

Sylvar is one of the Transitive Planes, the liminal realms that lie between the Mortal and Divine Planes. It reflects the natural world in its most vibrant and exaggerated form. Forests glow with light of their own, meadows bloom and wither within an hour, and the land reshapes itself in response to the feelings of those who walk it: joy can raise a radiant grove, while despair can summon choking brambles.

Seasons in Sylvar change in an instant rather than over months, so a traveler may cross summer, autumn and deep winter in a single afternoon. Time is just as unreliable. Hours can stretch into years or collapse into moments, and visitors often return home to find far more or far less time has passed than they expected.

The plane belongs to the fey, beings as whimsical as they are dangerous. They delight in games, riddles and bargains, and the terms of a fey bargain can have consequences that reach far beyond Sylvar.

The greatest danger in Sylvar is its own nature. Emotions turn into terrain, the paths shift, and a careless promise binds the one who made it. Mortals can lose track of time, of their way home or of themselves.

Mortals come to Sylvar seeking arcane secrets, alliances with the fey or simply the thrill of discovery, and the places they seek out are rarely where they were the last time someone looked.
