Dwek-Haku (Hill Dwarf)
The Dwek-Haku are the hill dwarves of Aradaea, a people of ancestral tribes with proud and ancient traditions. Like the other Dwek heritages, they descend from the Haku-Dweka, and over some 100,000 years the land they settled set them apart from their kin.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”Hill dwarves are stout, standing around four and a half feet tall and weighing about 150 pounds. Their hair is thick and curly and comes in many colors, beards are common, and their skin spans the natural range of tones.
Society and Culture
Section titled “Society and Culture”Tribe and lineage organize daily life. Customs passed down through the generations carry real weight, and a family’s history is something to keep, retell and live up to.
Homeland
Section titled “Homeland”The Dwek-Haku call the region of Kolgaren home. Like all Dwek they sense the ground itself, feeling movement through the earth out to about 20 feet.
Life Cycle
Section titled “Life Cycle”A hill dwarf can expect to live around 250 years, long enough to watch several generations of shorter-lived neighbors come and go, and to remember as experience what others know only as history.
Relations
Section titled “Relations”They share their ancestry with the Dwek-Maka, whose caste-ordered city-states lie underground, and more distantly with the Dwek-Droki of the Underdark. Most speak Dwarvish as well as Aethyrian Common.
