Agriculture

Agriculture in Geminaea ranges from fields worked by hand to arcane farming that depends on Aethyr. Because Aradaea is an arid world and Vitaea a fertile one, the two planets have taken very different approaches, and on Aradaea water has shaped farming technology since the rise of the first city-states.

Arcane agriculture applies Aethyr to the oldest problems of farming: water, soil and growth. Aethyr-driven pumps, mills and irrigation channels move water to where it is needed, while regulated fields and orchards hold conditions steady through the seasons. Engineered seed is bred to suit particular soils and climates.

Farms feed every society in Geminaea, and methods vary as widely as the lands themselves, from rain-fed fields and terraces to greenhouses and Aethyr-regulated orchards. Which peoples farm in which ways is left to the pages of each region.

Arcane farming is most common where Aethyr technology is affordable and water is scarce; elsewhere, older methods remain the norm. On Ravena, the Ogruul Horde oversees agriculture along with beastkeeping, waste management and resource reclamation.

Machines that depend on Aethyr fail when their power does, and a broken irrigation network can threaten a whole harvest. Concentrated Aethyr near fields and stores carries the same dangers it does anywhere else.
