What Is Known
Section titled “What Is Known”Valdesh’s landscapes range from volcanic wastes and arid north-western deserts to high mountain ridges, river valleys, coastal inlets and the frozen isles of Akazaea, and its living things share the region’s strong elemental influence. Little about them is written yet. What the main page does say comes through the Elemari who live alongside them:
- Sky-beasts. In Akazaea, sky-beasts are one of the ways, with bound air elementals and skycraft, that the Azen keep the southern archipelago connected to the rest of Valdesh.
- Fisheries. Water Elemari harvest fish from Valdesh’s rivers and coasts, one of the trades in the Elemari economy.
- Crops. Air Elemari tend cliffside crops, and Earth Elemari farm underground. In Kogazaea, glacier meltwater and geothermal heat sustain tundra crops, orchards and greenhouses.
The region’s beasts, birds, sea life and plants, and how its elemental confluences have shaped them, are yet to be described.
