Kaladaran Express
The Kaladaran Express is a rail service associated with Kaladar, the technocratic society on the island-continent of Shezul known for its advanced automation and constructs. It is one of the named lines among Geminaea’s trains and trams, and a showpiece of the region’s engineering.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”Like other trains, the Express runs on fixed rails, with an engine car hauling a string of passenger and freight cars behind it. Its engines are Aethyr-driven, drawing on the refined Aethyr that powers much of the region’s industry, from turbines to irrigation networks.
Common Uses
Section titled “Common Uses”The Express carries passengers, mail and goods between the cities and towns it serves. In a region where the cities of Kaladar have long competed over trade and infrastructure, a fast and reliable rail link is both a convenience and a source of civic pride.
Availability
Section titled “Availability”Tickets are widely sold along the route, with comfortable cars for those who can afford them and plainer seating for workers and ordinary travelers. Service beyond the line’s own stations depends on connections to other transport.
A train moving at speed is hard to stop, and the line depends on well-kept track and engines. Rail links between rival cities also make tempting targets for sabotage during times of tension.
