The Conception Era is the fifth era of the Genesis Timeline, following the Inception Era and lasting around 670 million years. It is the infancy of Proto-Geminaea, the single world its later inhabitants called Terra. The young planet begins the era battered by debris from its new astral system and ends it calm enough for life to take hold.

  • Bombardment: Proto-Geminaea is struck again and again by astral debris.
  • A moon is born: the Proto-Geminaean Moon, Anevar, takes shape.
  • Settling conditions: the planet’s surface and skies gradually calm.
  • First life: the era ends when the first single-celled life emerges on Geminaea.

The Conception Era gives Geminaea two things that shape its whole history: a living world and the moon that watches over it. Anevar outlasts the world it first orbited. After the Rending it is moved to the outer edge of the system, and it becomes the home of the Eldaari and Wataari who keep vigil over the reborn planets. The single cells that close the era are the distant beginning of every people in the realm, though few mortals today know that their history reaches back this far.
