The Investigation Era is the first era of the Divergence Timeline, lasting around 300 thousand years. It is the age of the early Proma, the first sapient beings of Geminaea, as they spread across their world and begin to wonder about it. Small bands become cultures, shared stories become beliefs, and the Proma discover that the world answers their thoughts.
Major Events
Section titled “Major Events”- The Proma spread: early Proma move across Geminaea, forming simple cultures as they go.
- First beliefs: the earliest belief systems take shape.
- First magic: the Proma begin to wield magic, learning to work Aethyr through ritual, symbol and incantation.
- The first gods: the era ends when the first gods are created.
Legacy
Section titled “Legacy”The Investigation Era sets the pattern that defines the rest of the Divergence Timeline. Because Aethyr links thought and reality, the beliefs the Proma form in this age do not stay ideas: in time they give rise to gods. Later scholars of magic look back on the era’s rituals and symbols as the groundwork for every more refined practice that followed. The same discovery that made the Proma powerful also set them on the road to the War of the Gods.
