About

The Divergence Timeline is the second of the five periods of Geminaean history. It follows life on Terra, the single world that came before the twin planets, from the rise of the Proma, the first sapient beings, to the world’s destruction. Over this time the Proma build cultures and faiths, discover that they can wield magic, and learn that their belief can create gods. The timeline ends with the War of Belief and the Rending of the world.

The Eras

• Investigation Era: the Proma spread across the world, form the first beliefs and begin to use magic, until the first gods are created.
• Discord Era: civilizations and organized religions arise, and rivalry over belief grows until the War of Belief begins.
• Annihilation Era: a century of war between peoples and their gods, ending when the Battle of the Beast splits the world in two.

Legacy

The Divergence Timeline is the cautionary tale behind the world that followed. Its wars ended in the Rending, and the survivors built the Godspact so that unchecked belief could never again tear the world apart. Few mortals today know this history; the War of the Gods describes its final conflict. Its end leads into the Recovery Timeline.
