The Discord Era is the second era of the Divergence Timeline, following the Investigation Era and lasting around 1,100 years. In this age the Proma build true civilizations, and their scattered beliefs harden into organized religions. As those civilizations grow, they learn a dangerous truth: a god’s power rises and falls with the belief of its mortal followers.

  • Civilizations form: the Proma found settled societies with their own customs and rulers.
  • Organized faith: more established religions and structured belief systems emerge.
  • Belief as power: some begin to understand that mortal belief feeds the strength of the gods.
  • Expansion and conflict: growing civilizations push outward, and disputes break out between neighbors.
  • Conversion: civilizations become global in reach and set out to convert others, so as to empower their own gods.
  • War: the era ends when the global War of Belief begins.

The Discord Era turns the discoveries of the Investigation Era into rivalry. Once faith is understood as a source of divine strength, every convert is a gain for one pantheon and a loss for another. The skirmishes that close the era grow into the War of the Gods, and from there into the destruction of the Annihilation Era.
