Discovery Timeline
The Discovery Timeline is the fourth of the five periods of Geminaean history and the first that the peoples of Aradaea and Vitaea recorded for themselves. Across it, scattered peoples become kingdoms and empires, take up the study of the world and of magic, and finally learn that they share their sky with another inhabited planet. It ends with the discovery that the two worlds are drifting toward each other, the crisis that leads to the creation of Ravena.
The Eras
Section titled “The Eras”- Exploration Era: kingdoms and empires rise and explore their worlds, until the first Prophets of the Pantheon appear.
- Inquiry Era: shared faith, organized study and new ideas of mortal rights, ending with the discovery that all creatures can influence magic.
- Arcane Era: rapid magical progress, the discovery of Aethyr and first contact between the planets, ending with the threat of collision.
Legacy
Section titled “Legacy”Many of the nations, faiths and academies of the present day trace their roots to this timeline, along with the habit of studying magic as a science. Its last era also produced the divide between those who trust magic and those who fear it, a quarrel that shapes the Neoteric (Modern) Timeline.
